What Is an ENERGY STAR® Window?
ENERGY STAR® is a federal program that certifies energy-efficient products based on regional climate standards. Certified windows must meet strict performance requirements set by the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC).
ENERGY STAR® performance standards by climate zone include:
- Northern Zone (Blue): U-Factor ≤ 0.27, SHGC any
- North Central Zone (Yellow): U-Factor ≤ 0.30, SHGC ≤ 0.40
- South Central Zone (Orange): U-Factor ≤ 0.30, SHGC ≤ 0.25
- Southern Zone (Red): U-Factor ≤ 0.40, SHGC ≤ 0.25
The South Plains fall within the South-Central climate zone, so our products are specifically selected to maximize comfort and energy savings for homes in Brownfield, Lubbock, and surrounding South Plains communities.
